The Significance of Mongolian History and Culture for World Peace

Mongolian leaders from regions around the world. Distinguished guests from NGOs and government agencies. Ladies and gentlemen.

Through the International Peace Conference for Mongolian Leaders from Around the World that began on September 21st with the theme, “Establishing a World Culture of Heart and Lasting Peace: The Significance of Mongolian History, Culture and Family Tradition,” we came to understand the Mongolian people of the world in a new light.

We have discovered that Mongolian history is much richer and deeper than we first thought. We have seen how this history greatly affected the overall history of mankind. Yet, our most important discovery was the new awareness of the position and significance of the Mongolian people when seen from the perspective of God’s providence.

This Inaugural Assembly has its foundation in these discoveries. It is indeed crucial that we continue and even expand the substantial partnerships and exchanges that have been initiated here.

Immersed in the many details of our daily lives, we are often unaware of the seriousness of the crisis that our world faces today. A few years ago many of us believed that with the end of the Cold War, the 21st century and the new millennium would bring a new era of peace. Yet our global village still suffers due to widespread global strife that has been aggravated further by globalization.

Hunger, religious strife, genocide, poverty, the destruction of the environment, and international terrorism have undermined mankind’s hopes for peace. Yet the most serious problems are not external. More fundamental and internal are the problems that threaten the stability, peace, and very existence of mankind. But this trend has instead been accepted as the unstoppable.

I am referring to family breakdown, youth alienation, and the loss of an awareness of the importance of purity and fidelity. These spiritual values are the prototype or root that makes us human. If these values collapse, peace can never be realized in this world.

In my Keynote Address from our Opening Plenary, I mentioned that the Mongolian people are the descendants of Shem, the elder son in Noah’s family. In God’s providence the elder-son should first and foremost protect and preserve God's lineage of goodness, and fulfill his duty in attending to God, the true parent, in reverence. Furthermore, the elder son has the providential responsibility to practice true love by first sacrificing himself and giving himself for the sake of nature and the rest of mankind which stands in the position of the younger son.

The Mongolian Peoples’ Federation for World Peace should focus primarily on the true mission of an elder son. This is more important than engaging in any activity or policy. The absolute value system of the family centered on pure and true love is the origin and starting point for peace. We should first establish an ideal family tradition based on the values of pure love and true love. On this foundation we should expand through external exchange, cooperation and partnership.

Though we have already touched upon this essential point during the conference sessions, I would like to share with you the fundamental philosophy and historical outlook that the Mongolian Peoples’ Federation for World Peace should take.

Our first ancestors were created as the children of God, the origin of true love, true life and true lineage. Yet, through the fall of our ancestors mankind has transmitted through the generations a false love, false life and false lineage that has no relation to God.

If Adam and Eve, the first human ancestors, had not fallen, they would have completed God’s purpose of creation and become the substantial manifestation of true love – that is the true parent, true teacher, true owner and true king. Through the generations after them the ideal world of true love and goodness would have been established on this earth.

God’s providence of salvation is the providence of restoration, that is, a providence to restore man to his original state before the fall. However, since man came under the domain of Satan who has no relation to God, God’s providence can only be completed through the messiah who comes as the human ancestor and true parent.

The God of true love had to suffer the pain of losing His children due to the fall. God spent many long years in restraint and with no freedom to carry out His authority and power.

Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Mrs. Hak Ja Han Moon have consistently lived their lives investing and giving true love for the purpose of restoring the ideal world of God’s creation, and bringing about the liberation and complete freedom of God. They carried out the providence as savior, messiah, lord of the second coming and true parents, according to God’s anointing and heavenly decree, and as testified by the five great saints in spirit world.

They have brought an end to the era before heaven, that is, the world of evil in which mankind had been bound by falsehood and sin, living without liberty under the domain of Satan. In order to restore all these things through indemnity, Dr. and Mrs. Moon have removed the conditions of Satan’s accusations by attaining victory in the eight vertical and horizontal stages from the individual level to the cosmic level. Since Satan does not back down without a fight, only God knows of the struggles and tribulations that Dr. and Mrs. Moon have gone through. Only God can bring comfort to them.

Dr. Moon revealed the fundamental principles of God, mankind, and the universe. On this foundation in 1954 he founded the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity. On the foundation of religious ideals, he has worked to educate and recreate the character and true individuality of fallen man. In this way, by promoting pure love and the true family, Dr. Moon’s movement has expanded to become a global movement for world peace. What is especially noteworthy is that all his initiatives have been launched centering on the ideals of interreligious, interracial and international reconciliation and unification.

For more than 50 years he has carried out religious and educational programs promoting pure and true love for the sake of world peace. The fruit of his labors are apparent worldwide. This is a miracle in itself. Dr. and Mrs. Moon always place God as the central axis in their lives. They live in relation to the spirit world. They are ever passionate in focusing on God’s will and desire. They have no time to worry about the distorted views and opinions of the world. Instead, they strive each day to liberate God from His anguish and suffering that came from losing His children through the fall.

In 2001, at the dawn of the 21st century, Dr. Moon offered a special coronation ceremony for the kingship of God, bringing on the day of God’s liberation and complete release. This signaled the start of the age of God’s direct dominion. In December 2003, he offered the coronation ceremony for Jesus in Jerusalem. This ceremony liberated Jesus’ resentment towards the Jewish people. In conjunction with this, another coronation ceremony was held in Washington D.C. in America, the “2nd Israel,” on February 4th, 2004, centering on Dr. Moon’s son in spirit world, Heung-jin nim, and Jesus. On that foundation the “Crown of Peace Ceremony” was held on March 23rd in the Dirksen Senate Building in Washington D.C. On this special occasion, world leaders representing Judaism, Christianity and Islam gathered, along with U.S. Congressmen, and Ambassadors for Peace, to award Dr. Moon and Mrs. Moon with the crown of peace as the "king and queen of world peace.”

Receiving the call of heaven, Dr. Moon has fulfilled his mission on earth, and has become the true parent, true teacher, true owner, true king, and peace king of mankind. On that foundation another coronation ceremony was held on August 20th in Korea, the providential fatherland, and parent nation where Dr. Moon was acknowledged before the universe as the eternal peace king of true love.

People usually associate the word king, to a ruler or monarch with external authority. Yet, God’s original ideal of governance is not based on authority or power. The most complete and ideal way of governance is through true love. The peace king stands as the subject of true love who gives joy, satisfaction, and happiness to his object partner.

Throughout history mankind was unable to escape from Satan's dominion of false love. Man's original nature has tirelessly yearned for the day of freedom and liberation. Yet man was not aware that true freedom and liberation can only come after the liberation and release of God, and the liberation of the True Parents’ heart.

The era of heaven in which freedom, equality, peace and happiness are forever established in the peace kingdom, follows an order that is fundamentally different from that of the era before heaven. As such, crime, hypocrisy, power, materialism, violence, confrontation, and struggle will lose influence and disappear. The kingship of peace and a kingdom of peace and prosperity will now be established centering on true love and the truth that arises from our original heart. The peace kingdom is grounded in the true family that is connected to the true heart, true love, and true lineage. A new era has dawned in which the peace kingdom will be substantially established in heaven and on earth.

The Mongolian people of the world shall stand in the position of the providential elder son before God and True Parents. Let us become the representatives of heaven and implement and fulfill the three great revolutions. That is, the sacrificial revolution through indemnity, the moral revolution of the conscience and the true love revolution of the heart. Let us make our determination and take action so that the world of peace, unification, and true love, that is the ideal of God’s creation, can be substantially established in heaven and on earth.

May God’s infinite guidance and blessings be upon you and the Mongolian Peoples’ Federation for World Peace.
